HEALTHY LIFESTYLES, PREVENTION, AND WELLNESS PROMOTION FOR NATIVE AMERICAN ELDERS PROGRAM


    California Indian Manpower Consortium, Inc. (CIMC) was awarded a grant from The California Wellness Foundation (TCWF)for the CIMC Healthy Lifestyles, Prevention, and Wellness Promotion for Native American Elders Program. This program has been funded to help disseminate health information, provide healthy aging workshops, develop reading corners on health issues at tribes and to start exercise programs at participating tribes. Program services are provided to elders and youth of the 27 participating tribes as well as any individual interested in learning about healthy aging. The direct service objective is to provide comprehensive educational outreach regarding disease prevention/maintenance, healthy aging education, exercise and nutrition to tribal elders and youth.

  • Disseminating printed health information
  • Facilitating health information workshops
  • Providing assistance with starting a exercise/health program in tribal communities
